Please join us for an exciting performance by the Andrew London Trio.
Their brand of swing music evokes the ‘Great Gatsby’ and ‘Rat Pack’ eras where ‘Swing was King’ and they also delve into country, jazz and folk genres to find long-forgotten gems that spark an unexpected nostalgic nerve.
This performance will be followed by refreshments.

Bob Scott Village offers living choices to suit everyone, so residents can live the way they want and blaze their own trails. Our apartments are light and spacious, with clean lines and a clever open plan design layout that provides an easy flow throughout.
If down the track you need more support, we offer assisted living in a serviced apartment and a full range of care options. That freedom and flexibility is empowering for residents and knowing care can be dialled up as needed means, quite simply, ‘no worries’. It's all part of what we like to call the Ryman Difference.
Our pioneering approach to retirement living includes resident-friendly terms designed to protect you and your family. Our base weekly fee is fixed for the entire time you occupy your apartment*, and our deferred management fee is capped at 20 percent – one of the lowest in the retirement sector.
These are just some of the ways we’re pioneering a new way of living for a new retirement generation.
*Some conditions apply.
Enjoy all the upsides of living independently in a Ryman village. Easy living, security, plus a huge bonus – the support of a vibrant village community.
Serviced apartments come with support you can count on. A chef-prepared meal, housekeeping – it's great for you and reassuring for your family.
Community is central to the lifestyle so we offer amenities that encourage that sense of togetherness, such as a café, dining room, bar, hair and beauty salon, and shop.
Retirement is a great time to sharpen your skills on the passions and pastimes that you love. Spend time enjoying the workshop, movie theatre, pool table, and library.
Incorporate regular activity into your everyday routine or enjoy the camaraderie of a little game time. Amenities include a swimming pool, spa pool, terrace, gym, bowling green and petanque court.
Care is not an ‘add on’ at a Ryman village, it is built into the fabric of our villages from the very beginning. It’s comforting for couples and friends to know they can still be near each other even if their health needs are different.
Bob Scott care centre offers a full range of care options including resthome, hospital and specialist dementia care. Like all aspects of our villages, we constantly look for ways to improve both the care we provide and the innovation behind it. Care is customised using our myRyman care app and residents love the food in our seasonal Delicious menu, which is prepared fresh on site by village chefs.
Bob Scott is one of over 80 percent of Ryman villages that have been awarded 4-year certification by the Ministry of Health. It’s recognised as the ‘gold star’ standard in care.
Personal attention, warmth and building trusting relationships are all crucial to the customised care we provide at our care centres.
Nurturing and caring dementia care communities. Residents are supported to live in the moment, and to feel kindness, love, and security.

That’s why each Ryman village is named after a Kiwi or Aussie trailblazer. Anthony Wilding, Lady Diana Isaac, Evelyn Page to name a few. They lived with passion and purpose, they pushed further, they went beyond the ordinary. That’s exactly what we strive to do every day at Ryman. To pioneer a new way of living, for a new retirement generation.
New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Robert (Bob) Scott, made his mark on history as a rugby legend.
Having grown up in poverty, Bob overcame a difficult childhood to become one of world rugby’s greats. His off-field resilience was matched by his on-field demeanour. Hennie Muller stated in his autobiography that “Scott always appeared to have plenty of time, even under pressure. His speed and elusiveness were such that he was always a danger. Altogether, the greatest player I’ve ever played in any position”.
Unable to afford rugby boots as a young player, Bob developed into a masterful barefoot kicker. With 17 All Black tests to his name, he holds a reputation for being a nimble, attacking fullback with the ability to swerve, feint, and sidestep on-coming forwards. He is widely considered one of the finest All Black fullbacks.
Following his rugby career, Bob ran a menswear store with another former All Black Andy Leslie in Petone, becoming a well-known figure in the local business community. He was recognised for his unwavering support of the Petone community and his commitment to younger rugby players with an appointment to the Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1995.
