Respite and day care

 

Respite care provides temporary care in a range of circumstances. You may need some rehabilitation after a hospital stay, or perhaps a little extra support – whether it’s for a single night or a few weeks.

If you still live in your own home, a short stay at one of our care centres could be a welcome break from your usual routine. You could even stay with us in our day care programme where you can enjoy meals and activities during the day. Plus, did you know that you can receive respite care in the comfort of an assisted-living apartment.

A huge point of difference for Ryman care residents is the feeling of connection they experience. Activities and events are all there for you to take part in when you feel like it.

People often tell us they 'feel the difference' when they visit a Ryman village. There's something in the way residents and our care teams interact, their genuine affinity with one another. We offer respite care in resthome-level care and, in most villages, hospital and specialist dementia care. Join us and experience that feeling for yourself.

Innovation through myRyman Care

At Ryman, our care plans come to life through our custom-made electronic care app, myRyman Care. A device, located in every care room, enables nurses and carers to access and record daily care tasks and clinical data for each resident at the bedside. Meaning less time manually writing up notes, and more quality time caring for residents. And should a resident's primary carer be absent, everything is securely recorded on their myRyman device making the transfer of care seamless.

Quite simply, it's Delicious

Delicious is Ryman's bespoke seasonal menu that's prepared fresh on site using fresh ingredients. 

As a respite resident, we will provide all your meals and snacks. You have a choice of three main courses, including a vegetarian option. Plus, we cater for special dietary requirements. Simply talk to us about your needs or click to learn more about Ryman Delicious.

Arrange a needs assessment 

Prior to booking a respite stay with us, you need to be assessed by your local Needs Assessment and Services Coordination agency (NASC). Or in some regions, Care Coordination – Older Person’s Health. You can contact them yourself, or your doctor can refer you. Your assessment also determines the number of government-funded days per year you can access.
