Find your retirement village in Christchurch

Ryman Healthcare has been part of the Christchurch community since 1984 — it’s the city where we started, and where our head office remains today. Across greater Christchurch and Canterbury, we operate 7 retirement villages spanning Halswell, Beckenham, Mairehau, Papanui, Riccarton Park, Northwood, and Rangiora — each with its own character and each offering the living and care options to suit your stage of life.

Whether you’re looking for an independent apartment or townhouse, the added support of assisted living, or rest home, hospital, or specialist dementia care, you’ll find it within a Ryman village. Over 90% of our established villages have earned 4-year certification from the Ministry of Health — the gold standard in aged care.

What you won’t find is a one-size-fits-all approach. Every Ryman village in Christchurch has its own community, its own personality, and its own mix of amenities — from indoor heated pools and gyms to cafés, libraries, and village open days. And because care is built into the fabric of our villages rather than bolted on, you can plan your future with confidence.
