As Ryman’s first retirement village, Woodcote Village holds special significance not only for the residents who live there, but also the wider Ryman family. It’s where Ryman’s pioneering journey began to provide retirement villages where people can live life to the full. In fact, Ryman’s co-founder Kevin Hickman lived on site during construction where he turned his pioneering vision into the Woodcote Village residents know and love today.

Woodcote is a boutique village with a big heart, where community is central to the lifestyle. The village’s close-knit community reflects this sentiment perfectly. It’s evident in the enthusiasm residents bring to the many events at the village. The regular outings are always popular with residents at local hotspots such as Scarborough and the Groynes – it’s a great way to stay connected and active with like-minded people.

And what is a retirement community without a little friendly rivalry between bowling clubs! The village takes part in bowling competitions with other villages which instils great camaraderie with residents. As for convenience, the village’s close proximity to the Hub Hornby means there are a wide variety of shops, amenities, cafes and restaurants at your disposal.

There's a lifestyle option to suit everyone at the village. You can choose from a townhouse to the extra support of an assisted-living apartment. If your needs change over time, our care centre provides 49 resthome care rooms. Woodcote care centre is located within the same village community and, as a Ryman resident, you will have priority access.

Our pioneering approach to retirement living includes resident-friendly terms designed to protect you and your family. Our base weekly fee is fixed for the entire time you occupy your apartment or townhouse*, and our standard deferred management fee is capped at 20 percent – one of the lowest in the retirement sector.

Care is not an ‘add on’ at a Ryman village, it is built into the fabric of our villages from the very beginning. It’s comforting for couples and friends to know they can still be near each other even if their health needs are different.

Woodcote care centre offers the best of resthome care. Like all aspects of our villages, we constantly look for ways to improve both the care we provide and the innovation behind it. Care is customised using our myRyman Care care app and residents love the food in our seasonal Delicious menu, which is prepared fresh on site by village chefs.
