Episode 24 - The latest on the vaccine race

Dr Doug and Dave walk us through the companies hoping to win the COVID-19 vaccine race and enjoy the lucrative business that will follow.

To set the scene, Dr Doug explains how a vaccine protects the body. How it sends a signal to the body, mimicking an infection. The body reacts to the faux infection and then remembers the identity of the infection. He goes on to explain that when the real infection arrives, the body is now ready to hit it hard and fast and protect the body.

Following a vaccine 101, the pair run through vaccine development progress and the manufacturing process, as well as the shipping and storage logistics for some of the vaccines in development.
