Keith Park has taken out the Aged Advisor category for the Best Small Retirement or Lifestyle Village of 2022 for the North Island.

The award came about following the large number of positive resident reviews on the village’s website over the last year.

Residents reviewed Keith Park online with many positive comments including Donald Bennington saying: “We are very happy with the way the village looks after us.”

Beverly Patchett wrote: “Unable to think of anything that could be done to improve things.”

Bruce Waldock said: “The most caring and considerate staff headed by an empathetic, kind, very capable, professional and caring manager in Kim Dawson.”

Independent resident Victor Ollerenshaw wasn’t surprised to hear Keith Park had won, saying he loves the lifestyle the area can bring.

“It’s a great place. The walks are great, the scenery is great, you’re close to everything you need around here, and the people are fantastic.”

Another resident Geoff Hickman agreed, saying: “The staff are wonderful, and I’ve made many friends here.”

Village Manager Kim Dawson said she was overwhelmed when she heard the news. “The trophy arrived and I couldn’t believe it!”

Keith Park currently has 68 independent residents living in the village with that number expected to go up to around 600 when the village is completed.

It will expand to include serviced apartments, a hospital wing, resthome and dementia care.
