Summer celebration for Kevin Hickman residents

On a perfect Canterbury day, the residents of Kevin Hickman Retirement Village residents gathered at a Peppers restaurant at the stunning Clearwater resort.

Ryman’s summer BBQs and festivities have started, and everyone has been taking advantage of the blue skies and hot breezes that come with the season.

While the Kevin Hickman village group were sheltered from the elements in the inside location, the wraparound windows and reflective lake gave them the plenty to enjoy.

Kevin Hickman is one of Ryman’s newest villages, and all the townhouse residents were in attendance at the event.

Activities and Lifestyle Coordinator Tracey Herron sat down with the large group, who enjoyed choosing from a classy menu, from which fish and chips and burgers were two of the favoured options.

The Lume restaurant staff offered refreshments ahead of the main menu, which also included options such as chicken Caesar salad, an open steak sandwich and grilled free range chicken kebab.

There was a feeling of frivolity as the residents of the village that opened last year got to know each other a little better. It was a splendid and truly summery occasion.
