Dr Doug first joined a gym at 80 after falling down the stairs at home. He was intimidated about being ostracised at the gym – often considered the domain of younger people - but was delighted to see how many energetic, motivated people over 50 were there. Some recovering from strokes, some with Parkinson’s disease.
