Episode 15 - Find happiness and live longer

Dr Doug and Dave explore how happiness and wellbeing overlap. Among many definitions, Dr Doug suggests that happiness is ‘the experience of joy or contentment combined with the sense that your life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile’.

Generally, the outcomes of being happier and more optimistic than those less happy and more pessimistic, are increased life expectancy, better health, and higher resistance to disease and infection.

It’s safe to say that a positive attitude to life is vitally important. Interestingly, over 80 clinical studies have established a u-curve of happiness.

Spoiler alert: the happiest individuals were in their 70s while the least happy were aged 40-50, irrespective of your country and circumstance.
