Poet's corner - stay in your bubble!

At Diana Isaac we’re all in lockdown

No trips to the beach, and  no visits to town

Just stay in your bubble, find something to do,

Like cleaning or gardening, whatever grabs you!

The guards on the gate block our exit, unless

You’re off to the doctor. That’s OK I guess

So walk round the village, no matter which way

And folks can be seen any hour of the day

At Tracey’s suggestion there’s a theme for the day

And folks get dressed up when they go on their way

And while everybody his way round he wends

He meets – at a distance – some old and new friends.

Rymans and Tracey look after us well.,

And lists tell us what they can possibly sell

With bread, milk and biscuits arriving each week

And ”Happy Hour” goodies, just what we would seek.

In many a window sits a teddy Bear

Some big and some small -doesn’t matter, they’re there.

Some blue and some big, as I mentioned before,

Has anyone counted them all? What’s the score?

To keep up our fitness we work with Chelsea

And do what she shows us on her DVD

Thirty-five minutes, and then you are done

Thank goodness we don’t try  what’s on TV1!

And so we survive three more weeks in this state

No visits from family, no gifts through the gate!

The lockdown and 2 metre rule has worked well

Cos we’re all of us here still the story to tell
