Covid-19 update for Auckland residents and their families

Congratulations – we are returning to COVID-19 Level 2 from midnight on Wednesday (September 23)!

Thank you so much to everyone for all your patience and support for our team since the latest round of COVID-19 restrictions came into force on August 12.

I’d also like to thank our team for all the hard work and for going the extra mile to ensure our villages remain safe havens for everyone.

Life at Level 2 means that our village centres are open to gatherings for up to 100 people.

Visits to our care centre will still be restricted to two people at a time per resident, and you will have to wear face masks.

The Level 2 restrictions in place at our villages include:

For care centre visitors:
• Please check in at reception, fill in the usual health declaration and take a mask for your visit.
• Check in with the Government’s COVID-19 Tracer app.
• Follow the appropriate hand hygiene and social distancing requirements at Alert Level 2, which are listed below.

For serviced apartment residents:
Visitors are welcome – but we ask that visitors to serviced apartment residents check in at reception, fill out the health declaration and wear a mask.

For independent residents:
Our village centres are open to activities for 100 people or less, and with appropriate social distancing.
Village hairdressing and beauty salon services are open, with one client at a time and social distancing and masks required.
Village cafes are open, but with the three ‘S’ guidelines in place - single server, seated and separated.
Our van outings, including shopping visits, are back with social distancing and a maximum of five residents per outing.

If you have to leave the village, we recommend that you practise social distancing and wear a face mask. It is now compulsory to wear a face mask on public transport.

We have good supplies of masks, just ask at reception if you need one.

We encourage residents to keep a log of visits and to use the Government’s COVID-19 Tracer app.

Let us know if we can help

Once again, thanks for your support and cooperation.

It is great to reach this milestone, and we will hopefully be at Level 1 before too much longer.

COVID-19 remains a threat, and you can rest assured that we will continue to do everything we can to maintain our villages as safe havens.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch with your village manager, or residentsupport@rymanhealthcare.com.

We’ll be back in touch once the next announcements are made.
