International Day of Older Persons

On 1st October 2015, we celebrated the International Day of Older Persons in conjunction with Age Concern.

Entertainment was provided by The Jane Mander Choir, Purple Patches, the Martin Family and Paul Henry & Don Boughten, while our very own resident Moereen Mennie brought tears to our eyes as she sang moving renditions of ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’, and ‘Danny Boy’.

Local MP Dr Shane Reti told a story to the audience and sang a wonderful rendition of ‘Blue Smoke’, Mayor Sheryl Mai was amongst the guests along with representatives from Age Concern.

Our talented chef, Tim Garlick, provided a delicious afternoon tea.

It was such a successful afternoon with over 350 attendees that we have decided to make it an annual event.
