Lisa Williams may have been a part timer at Jane Mander for the past five years, but she’s always taken a full time approach to kindness.

The Kindness Award winner was praised by a number of her colleagues for her sunny approach to her work and her caring attitude for work colleagues and residents alike.

She first started work as a part-time housekeeper while she was still at school and has used the job to pay her way through her university studies.

She says kindness was part of her upbringing and says her mum and her dad were both great role models.

“Kindness to me is getting to know the residents and helping them out in any way I can. I get to know their stories, their family histories. If I’m busy dusting or vacuuming I will stop and make time to help out. It takes time but that’s okay. It’s about all the little stuff.’’ She was a popular choice among her colleagues at Jane Mander.

“She’s a glass half full person,’’ one wrote. “Nothing is ever too much trouble. She’s a great asset to the village.’’

She was also praised for her willingness to help out her colleagues, even when she was busy with her studies.

Lisa is studying to be a teacher and plans to use her savings to buy things for her first home, which she and her partner have just purchased.
