From the moment, we told our residents we were having a prom there was big excitement and plans to make it a night to remember.
In the afternoon on May 19th activities staff set out to decorate our atrium. We placed colourful stars and flowers on the trees lovingly made by Tulip residents.
Balloons and glitter where placed around and on the trees, candles placed around the pond and the finish touch bud lights high in the trees. The tables were set cafe style with black and silver runners and more glitter. We also had the projector pointing at the ceiling showing ballroom dancing.
It all looked very bold and glamorous. That evening after much thought and planning our residents dressed to impress. Some of the ladies were treated to having their makeup and hair done for them. They looked amazing. The smiles on their faces showed it all.
Upon entering the residents walked through silver tinsel and each had a photo taken for a keep sake. Our entertainer Rolando played the piano giving us a wide range of music.
Some residents and staff danced while others were happy to listen and watch on. We were all wowed with the lovely finger food, savoury and sweet topped off with cheese and fruit platters.
Our clinical manager Dorien thanked everyone for coming and gave out much earned spot prizes. She then announced the King and Queen of the prom. First was Leo Barnett our king very smartly dressed in a red jacket and tie. Finishing off with our beautiful queen Jean Reid who took our breath away in a black sparkly outfit and head piece. Both were given prizes and Jean a lovely bunch of flowers. Well done to both.
We rolled up the evening with more dancing. Many fond memories were made through the night.
