Here at Bob Owens our aim is to always delight our residents. Again, we had a most amazing effort from our activities team…another well-planned event full of colour, warmth, kindness and happiness!
The prepartion for our Solstice started early; in the recreation and serviced apartment dining room our activities staff created the most amazing and inspiring time for our residents with beautifully decorated tables in shades of blue and stars hanging from the roof. The sparkling fairy lights expanded upon our existing motivation of 'delighting our residents'. Around 12pm, staff assisted each resident from our hospital and resthome to the dining area. Residents had lots of laughs as they made their way through white snow blowing from a snow machine as they entered the dining area. They were each taken to their personalised seating area, whilst the kitchen staff brought in food that smelled of heaven!
The staff plated up delicious ham, roasted potatoes, vegetables and a tasty gravy to top it all off, others were serving grape juice and bubbles to residents. The bubbles were - of course - a big hit!
As our residents were feasting away on the tasty food, laughter filled the room and music was playing in the background, creating an ambience of fun and happiness. Although staff were working like busy little bees…the effort was accompanied with warm hearts and lots of laughter.
