A group of 27 Ernest Rutherford staff and first-time models delighted residents and their workmates with a fashion show modelling beautiful new uniforms by Annah Stretton.
Ernest Rutherford is the first village in the South Island to get the new uniforms which have been designed to be beautiful as well as functional.
Laundry assistant Paige Turner has worked at the village since it opened more than eight years ago, and she was delighted to get her new designer uniform.
"I love it – it is just beautiful. I'd like to wear the trousers out tonight. I'll just cover up the R logo," she joked.
Bruce Haycock, 90, has lived at Ernest Rutherford for five years and loves picking flowers for staff. Bruce's walker is also covered in flowers and flashing lights. So he was an instant fan of the new look.
"I think they look wonderful. They've brightened the place up – they're nice bright people.''
