Rowena Jackson Retirement Village Staff Show

The cold and crispness of the snow which began as alluring but proved in many ways tragic, was in contrast to the warmth and fun of the show - The Rowena Jackson Annual Staff Concert.

The staff concert provided a forum for staff to let their hair down and get on stage. We were amazed by the hidden talents as staff shared their singing dancing and acting. The residents said that it was a treat to see their favourite staff members out of their uniforms and having fun!

Residents were heard laughing very loudly as the concert started a splendid rendition of the Three Little Pigs from the Administration and Maintenance Staff. Salisbury Staff provided a well costumed and choreographed "Bobbies Girl". The O'Byrne Wing who are often complimented for the delicious smells that waft from the dining room on baking day, acted out "The Mad Chef's Party" skit which demonstrated how to make pikelets with lollies, flowers, a chicken and cow providing the ingredients! However the group to win the Oscars was the Townhouse/Studio Staff. They began with a pious and sweet singing of "I will follow Him".. soon to rev up the pace and strip off their habits to end the song with hip swinging glamours ball gowns.

Solo items were provided by vocalists Joy Sprigs, Liz Fraser and Michelle Penny. There was also a piano solo from Katrina Murray. These ladies brought a variety of music which was greatly enjoyed.
