Frances Hodgkins may well be the village with the best view in the country but all eyes were on the staff supermodels as they donned their new Ryman by Annah Stretton designer uniforms and paraded down the catwalk. With a record turnout of residents to view the show, the village lives up to Dunedin's close ties with the fashion industry.
Village Manager, Joy Notman said she was, "very proud of all the staff today. We really do appreciate it. It's been a big day in the kitchen as well" and she thanked chef Rachael for her effort.
Clinical Manager, Trudy Stark noted, "It's the most important thing that the residents like them too – they have to look at us!" She said it was lots of fun modelling.
Three apartment residents, Maida McCready, Yvonne Fogo and Ngaira Devlin got together over happy hour following the show. Ngaira said, "The moment I saw the uniforms were pink and blue I knew I'd love them. they are my favourite colours. I think the materials are so suitable."
