We found that we had to 'hold on tight' when taken for a ride around the obstacle course in the Haglund at the Christchurch Antarctic Centre.
What an exciting trip, up and down the hills, over the gap of supposed crevass, round in a circle at an alarming angle, then the big thrill of plunging into the deep water. "I hope we come out the other side nice and dry..?" they all chorused.
The exhibits and 4D films inside the centre of travel to frozen continent had them all talking about the adventure for many days. Several whales and penguins (of the soft cuddly variety) found a new home back at the retirement village. What an excursion, and one to be returned to in the future as there was so much to see and do.
