Anzac Day is a very special day here at Woodcote. Excited residents got up early in the morning to get ready for the Anzac day service.
The reception area was decorated with poppies, crosses, pictures, flags and residents made mini wreaths the day before to be displayed.
The bag pipes called us together and John Jennings, former Woodcote resident, leads the procedures with song, poems and stories of the war.
Residents and visitors are invited to share their stories about fathers, brothers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who served in WWII and as you can imagine there is usually not a dry eye in the room.
The service was followed with morning tea and homemade ANZAC biscuits.
