We celebrated the Olympics in style here at Anthony Wilding. We spent the day setting up a course for the residents. Upon arrival, residents were put into teams of four and had badges each, according to which country they were competing for. The Olympics included, Swimming/hurdles relay, which is hurdles wearing a shower cap and goggles. Badminton, Discus, Olympic word searches, Naming flags of the world, Indoor Bowls, Skittles, and hole in one on our putting green. Each team won tokens for each event and the team/country with the most tokens at the end were the winners.
Gold medal winners were Scotland, Silver were Australia, and Bronze going to France. We ended the day with the medal giving, prizes and a scrumptious afternoon tea. The residents had a wonderful day and we had a lot of laughs.
