We were extremely lucky to be given the opportunity this year to have the pleasure of having the Webb Ellis Cup (Rugby World Cup) bought to our village to be put on display for the residents to see.
The residents bustled in line trying to get their photo taken with the cup which we are all so proud of. No one was allowed to touch it of course as Lee Goulding (member of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union) explained only Richie and the boys in black have earned the right to touch it. We also enjoyed drinks and nibbles while waiting for our turn to have a photo taken with the famous trophy. The photo inset is of Errol Richardson who was the former club captain, and is a life member of the Linwood Rugby Club. As you can see from the smile on his face, it was a very special moment for a very proud Cantabrian.
