The sight of red poppies aplenty alerts everyone to the fact that Anzac day is approaching, and so it was here at Anthony Wilding as we prepared for our memorial service.
Residents from across the facility gathered in the main lounge on Friday the 22nd of April to remember the service men and women who left home and travelled overseas during times of war.
On this sombre occasion we remember the sacrifices made, the fallen and those brave souls who never returned home. We also celebrate those who did return, especially our own Anthony Wilding veterans who continue to live lives which embody that “Anzac” spirit we are all so very proud of.
Once again this year we were privileged to have the winner of the speech competition from France to speak to us. She also played the flute which was enjoyed by all.
Anzac Day 2016
We will remember them.
