Some students from St Heliers Primary School came to visit residents in the Resthome and Hospital in March. This was an opportunity for the students to show and explain to the residents a project where they had written about their life story.
What we saw was not just a one-way interaction by the students to the residents but from our wonderful residents back to the students sharing their own life story as well. When I asked the residents what they enjoyed most it was the opportunity to spend time with and share time with younger people.
They commented how pleasant and engaging the students were. We are looking forward to another class visiting in the near future.
