Hello, my name is Toshiko de Clive-Lowe. I am Japanese and was born in Tokyo, Japan. I was 7 years old when World War II ended. My father was an actuary and he didn’t have to go to war.
I studied English at a college in Tokyo, and in 1964 I married a New Zealander who had an English publishing business in Tokyo. I was also working for a British boss in a similar company. We had three sons but sadly I lost my middle son six months ago. My other sons live overseas.
I also have three grandsons. Two live in Hawaii and are 13 years old and 10 years old. My other grandson lives in LA and he is 11 years old. The two grandsons in Hawaii are interested in the performing arts, especially musicals.
I love reading, especially historical novels in either English or Japanese, and I also enjoy playing bridge. I love living here in Edmund Hillary village and love the activities, especially going on trips and catching up with the other residents.
