Rebecca Nelson's performance delights residents

BertSutcliffe Rebecca Oct18 1

Rebecca Nelson delighted residents at Bert Sutcliffe this morning with her songs and stories of performing for royalty and dignitaries overseas.

From singing for Prince Charles at his private residence at Highgrove to performing with the Band of the Welsh Guards at Wellington Barracks opposite Buckingham Palace, Rebecca has sung for them all - although she has yet to tick Prince William off her list.

Another highlight was performing 'Bring Him Home' aboard her namesake Admiral Nelson's HMS Victory.

"I didn't have to duck when I was walking around because I'm short and so was he - thanks Grandad!" she joked.

Rebecca also sang 'Hallelujah' accompanied by one of her young singing students, Jade Maguire, before finishing on singalong favourite 'We'll Meet Again', prompting first tears of emotion then hands waving along in time.

Judging by the queue lining up for autographed CDs at the end our residents will be wishing for her return sooner rather than later!
