Covid-19 update for residents and their families who live outside of Auckland
This a short update to remind everyone about the restrictions we have in place to guard against the spread of COVID-19.
The Government decided last week to keep the current Level 2 restrictions in place until September 16.
This means that our villages are open as usual, but we will continue to keep strict infection control measures in place, including requiring visitors to the care centre to wear a mask.
For our independent and serviced apartment residents, life is largely back to normal apart from restrictions on the number of people at gatherings.
Here’s a reminder about the key points about the current restrictions at our villages while New Zealand is at Alert Level 2:
For care centre visitors:
• Please check in at reception, fill in the usual health declaration and take a mask for your visit.
• Check in with the Government’s COVID-19 Tracer app.
• If you have visited Auckland recently, we ask that you avoid visiting for 14 days from the date you returned.
• Follow the appropriate hand hygiene and social distancing requirements at Alert Level 2, which are listed below.
For serviced apartment residents:
Visitors are welcome – but we ask that visitors to serviced apartment residents check in at reception, fill out the health declaration and wear a mask.
For independent residents:
Our village centres are open to activities for 100 people or less, and with appropriate social distancing.
Village hairdressing and beauty salon services are back, with one client at a time and social distancing and masks required.
Our van outings, including shopping visits, are back with social distancing and a maximum of five residents per outing.
If you have to leave the village, we recommend that you practise social distancing and wear a face mask. It is now compulsory to wear a face mask on public transport.
We have good supplies of masks, just ask at reception if you need one.
We encourage residents to keep a log of visits and to use the Government’s COVID-19 Tracer app.
Let us know if we can help
Once again, thanks for your support and cooperation.
We’ll be back in touch once the next announcements are made on the current Alert Level.
