Locked down but spirits up - a poem

Written by Ryman Healthcare | May 14, 2020 3:41:35 AM

On 15th March a message sent to all of us
Our lives were to change and live in we must
By the end of the week we were in "Lock Down"
and security took over to keep us homebound

But in those early days surprises arrived
A care package full of goodies for us to thrive
coffee cheese tea bags to fill our needs
So we would not starve by any means

Next we were advised of our weekly delivery
Milk bread biscuits were considered essential
and to add to that our "Happy Hour bag" for our attention
filled a necessity so grateful to mention

In case we were feeling a little bored
Quiz sheets and puzzles we all pored
Along with order sheets for all our feeds
Including wine and beer for essential needs

Easter not forgotten and Easter bunny did call
As still together in our "lock down"for all
Anzac Day was a special time not ignored
Then Mother's Day a treat of gifts mother's enjoyed

We have survived "lock down" now nearly undone
and can only say to Ryman, “Well Done"
You have treated us well we don't deny
and to all staff our thanks we hold high

The outstanding treatment we have received
Has been a credit for Ryman Village to leave
and from all at Possum Bourne where we live
We want you to know we appreciate all you did give.
