Poet's corner - lockdown at Rowena Jackson

I’m sitting here in Lockdown
I’m coming 88
I can’t even play the pokies
They won’t let me through the gate

Life is tough I tell you,
What did we do before?
The girl who does my cleaning
Can’t come through my door

My day’s a constant round of chores
Now I have to make my bed
And lux my jolly floors
How on earth did I cope before?

The virus thing has hit us
But we don’t know we’re alive
We couldn’t be in a better place
And I know we’ll all survive

The staff have been just great
They make us all feel safe
They bring us lots of goodies
Through that blimmin’ gate

So thank you Rowena Jackson
For all your marvelous care
We’ll all be here to annoy you
For many another year

Oh and our cars are in the garage
The batteries will all be flat
I’ve forgotten how to drive the thing
Won’t our kids be glad of that?
