A boutique village to thrive in

Located in the heart of one of Auckland’s most desirable suburbs, Logan Campbell Village offers the gateway to all that Auckland City has to offer. With convenient access to motorways and the airport, catching up with friends and family will be a piece of cake. And with all this city-living convenience, it seems too good to be true that the lush serenity of Cornwall Park is located just across the road from the village. To top it all off, the village also enjoys 360 degree views out to Auckland City and Manukau Harbour. Who says you can’t have it all!

As for village lifestyle, residents love the boutique aspect of the village. Perhaps it’s that close-knit community environment that has contributed to the emergence of various resident groups throughout the village. The ‘Loganberries’ group have combined their singing and ukulele talents to put on some fantastic performances. Plus, there have been various concerts, some featuring special guest performances by residents’ grandchildren.

Best of all, there’s a lifestyle option to suit everyone at Logan Campbell. You can choose from an independent apartment or the extra support of an assisted-living apartment. If your needs change over time, our state-of-the-art care centre provides 116 care rooms offering rest home, hospital and specialist dementia care.

EXCEPTIONAL LIVING

Our independent and assisted-living residents live in spaces designed to inspire, indulge, and entertain. Assisted living in a serviced apartment offers the benefits of independent living with added support to make life easier, including housekeeping and delicious chef-prepared meals.

FINANCIAL CERTAINTY

To retire with confidence, you need financial certainty. We're transparent about our costs, offering options to fit your ideal retirement lifestyle. No matter which option you choose, you'll know exactly what you're paying and what you'll receive in return.

We offer a choice in Deferred Management Fee (DMF), of either 30% or 25% with the latter option having a higher entry price.

Our namesake

LoganCampbell-Photo-350x350

Each Ryman village is named in honour of a Kiwi or Aussie trailblazer: Anthony Wilding, Lady Diana Isaac, Evelyn Page. They pushed further and set the bar high for others to aspire to. In creating communities that challenge the expectations of ageing, Ryman villages are also setting the bar high. They’re demonstrating that a retirement lifestyle brimming with new experiences, connections and fulfilment is something we should aspire to. Our Kiwi and Aussie namesakes represent the measure of inspiration, while Ryman villages represent the measure of retirement living.

Sir John Logan Campbell (1817-1912)

A prominent New Zealand public figure, Sir John Logan Campbell was described as ‘the father of Auckland’ by his contemporaries. An influential figure, he was the 3rd Superintendent of Auckland Province and the 17th Mayor of Auckland City.

As one of the two Europeans to first settle in the Auckland area, Sir John built the first house and shop alongside fellow settler William Brown, a Scottish lawyer. The two went into business together, forming Auckland’s first merchant firm, Brown and Campbell. Sir John continued to be a leading figure in early Auckland’s business and public spheres.

Following a 15-year departure back to Europe, Sir John stepped back into the Auckland business community. He sat on many company and community boards and became a director of the Bank of New Zealand, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and New Zealand Insurance Company. An impending royal visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall saw him approached to be the Mayor of Auckland for their visit. He agreed to be a representative only and was voted in during April 1901 before stepping down after the royal visit in July that same year.

A philanthropic man, Sir John donated significant parcels of his land to the New Zealand public – Auckland’s Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill. He set aside funds for a memorial to the Maori people on One Tree Hill. He is buried in the centre of the forecourt leading to the monument.

Reminiscences of a long life, edited and introduced by R. C. J. Stone, offers insight into Sir John’s life and the formation of Auckland, largely through his own words.
