This month we celebrated Beryl's Birthday. She was a magnificent 106 years old! The staff presented Beryl with a special birthday cake which she cut, then we shared an afternoon tea in her room.
Malvina Major Retirement Village Hawaiian Themed Happy Hour
Residents in the Rest Home celebrated the month of February with an Hawaiian Themed Happy Hour. The lounge was decorated in Hawaiian themed crafts made my the craft group and they even dressed up for an Hawaiian themed happy hour and enjoyed a non-alcoholic fruit punch.

We celebrated cultural day by each employee wearing their national costume.
Malvina Major Retirement Village Marquee Event
On the very last day of August we held the marquee event. It was to celebrate the beginning of spring the next day. We called it "Swing into Spring".
Malvina Major Retirement Village Olympic Games
We all enjoyed some floor games to celebrate the opening of the Olympic Games.
In this photo we are playing lounge hockey. The "Sticks" were made during a craft session of rolled up newspaper and taped together tightly. The teams sat opposite each other. Each line tried to send the ball down to their own goal at opposing ends.
