Jane Mander Retirement Village "Hippie Happy Hour"

It was a "Hippie Happy Hour" for the whole Village at Jane Mander recently. Flower power ruled as residents and staff appeared in a rainbow of tie-dyed outfits, long hair, head bands and peace signs to brighten the start of Winter.

A delicious spread of the sixties food favourite accompained the usual Happy Hour range of great wines and beers - all to the tune of a local musician playing songs that everyone know for a terrific singslong. The activites teamed wowed everyone with their hand painted jeans, the groundsmen looked after the bar looking for all the world like refugees from a rock band.

And when Head Gardener Jason appeared in his embroidered shirt and "afro" wig - to perform a Beatles solo - it simply brought the house down!

Everyone had a ball - and no one will forget "Hippie Happy Hour" for a long time to come. Who knows - it may well become an annual tradition at Jane Mander.
