Bowling Green Opens on St Patrick's Day

What could be more appropriate than opening our wonderful new bowling green on St Paddy’s day? This much anticipated event was attended by a large crowd – some keen and experienced, and others keen but novices.

Both had a great time in the sun. We are fortunate to have not only some of Whangarei’s finest bowlers; but they are also the kind of people who willingly share their skills.

Consequently our first roll-up was a lesson for newcomers as well. The bowlers amongst us pronounced the green straight and true, and quite fast – so they were well-pleased.

Since opening day, we have a regular rollup day; where novices and champions alike have some fun and everyone enjoys the social time together.

We’re organising a team to challenge the local bowling club – which should prove to be a sensational event!
