Flower Nursery

During the summer months of January and February the resthome, serviced and independent apartment residents were invited to a private home on the Taieri, the long established Mosgiel Nursery and Florist business which is operated by John and Mary Van Delft. Flowers such as roses, geraniums, lillies and alstremeria are grown at this nursery. We had a lovely time strolling through the Nursery admiring the different blooms. John explained to us about a days work at the Nursery. Floral cultivation is said to be in John’s Blood. After a pleasant wander around the beautiful garden we had our picnic afternoon tea - club sandwiches and carrot cake enjoyed by all.
